Never ever accept ‘Because You Are A Woman’ as a reason for doing or not doing anything. - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Harris' art explores the relationship between female bodies, societal expectations of women and women’s real life experiences, such as pregnancy and motherhood. Today we teach young girls that they can be ambitious and they can dream of achieving anything. Of course they can, but women are defined by the media, by people, mostly men, and by community beliefs in aged, and wrong, assumptions. Breast Intentions aims to highlight these simple self-evident falsehoods.

The cloth, dye, and stitch are used as carriers of the natural and social context of her art. It ranges from large-scale, wall hung textiles that consist of selections of abstract images on various different media, including dying on silk, linen and cloth and some embroidered figures. The fabric colours are created from natural dyes of eucalyptus trees and other flora, whilst also including rusty metals and collected man-made and natural objects.
